So Nachos has a major problem with peeing. She uses a litter tray and also pee’s in several spots round the cage. I thought the wood base was scented with pee so removed it and made a new base of memory foam and blankets, and cleaned the carpet underneath. It worked for like a week but now she’s back to her usual tricks which means I’m constantly washing blankets. I’ve tried to put additional trays in where she goes but she either moves them or goes in another spot as well as using all the trays and aiming so that it goes outside the cage. I’ve put their hay in the litter tray. She poo’s outside the trays aswell and I put them in trays to try and show her that it’s where she should be going but it’s still a problem. Had her for 10months and its always been an issue. I thought she would have trained by now. Is there anything in missing or are some buns stubborn when it comes to training? They get let out every day and she doesn’t go when she’s out and about. She is also spayed and seems to have a good bond with our other bun so I don’t think it’s dominance related

We fenced 3 sides of the litter box and that helped. What really changed our buns behavior, though, was treating him for peeing in the right place.

Limiting space until litter trained is often recommended but we did not do it.
