Penelope is leaving cecetropes everywhere and she isn’t eating them either and they end up becoming smashed on the floor (great right). I don’t know what’s causing this. I haven’t changed their diet. Does anyone have suggestions? She isn’t acting any different and I even try to feed them to her and she pushes them away. It started about 4 days ago.

You should check in her litter box to see if all her poop looks like cecotropes, and if it does you should get her checked by a vet. When my bunnies poop outside of their litter boxes, I just pick up the poop and put it in their litter boxes so they know to go there.

          Good luck!

She has regular poops in her box and she doesn’t poop outside her box so all the cecetropes everywhere is weird as they all eat them fresh out of their bum

Hmmm…she must be overproducing. Do you have access to Benebac? That’s probably what I would try first.

                LPT,
Good idea, I’ll feed her some of it. I also
Cut her veggies in half so it seems like somehow veggies became a source of the excess so I’ll do bennebac for a week and slowly up the veggies but she may be a bun who gets less veggies.

Chewie’s experiencing the same thing this week. I’ve started a tummy reset (only hay and water for three days) and will then gradually reintroduce his usual diet (which is very sensible to begin with, but with Giant Moult: The Sequel and our crazy polar winter, who knows wht his body’s thinking??). Is your floof nugget moulting by any chance?

That’s such a good idea! I will start that tonight so she won’t get a salad, but I’ll also do bennebac. And yes, it’s bad down here, she’s molting bad, but my others aren’t. And the weather is 70 then 30 the next, and I couldn’t imagine the weather up there…. too cold for me. But their bodies are probably freaking out not knowing to shed or make a thicker coat.
                    Thank you Q8bunny!

No worries… hopefully it helps. After only two days, Chewie’s already not smearing anymore. One more day… Benebac would surely make the process even more beneficial and effective.
