I wanna keep this short without too much of a story, but when I went into our bunny room about 3 hours ago, I noticed the end of our rug was torn apart with the fibers missing (leading me to conclude she ate them). She’s had a couple run-ins with eating random things and has never had issues passing them through. However, this time she’s showing some early signs of GI stasis.
She’s putting her belly on the floor, sitting in a very crunched up position, and not being nearly as active as she is. My last bunny used to get GI stasis and I’m familiar with the symptoms. However, I’ve never dealt with GI stasis from eating inedible things such as rug fibers. I gave her some critical care and meticam to start and she ate some hay. But I’m not seeing any pooping yet.
Is this something that will likely pass with feeding hay / critical care or should I rush her to the vet first thing tomorrow morning?
