He doesnt normally wee outside his toilet anymore and im wondering if its any thing to do with him hsving his operation. He is parking his bum up and just having a wee! He did this a few times when we first got him but stopped and now hes been castrated yesterday hes done it 3 times!

I forgot to add that he has also been very hyper today! He is on pain meds also twice a day

Hi Peanutwabbit. I would just check the incision sites and if everything looks good I would just wait it out. I know it’s not the most convenient. A neuter can cause their hormones to spike so this can cause changes in their habits for a period of time. They may even experience what some refer to as a post neuter craze and seem like a completely different bunny. This should get better as their hormones go down. They might experience some discomfort which can also cause them sometimes to not act like themselves.

When I had my bucks neutered I was given strict instructions to keep them in no more than a 5 foot area for 14 days. I just wanted to make sure that when you say he peed on your couch he isn’t jumping on and off the couch and it was more of he backed up to the couch situation. I hope he heals well!

Thanks for your reply. I have let him out and he was jumping on the sofa! Maybe i should keep him in his pen for a couple more days and see how he goes.. he was totally hyper today!! Never seen him so hyper so you sound right maybe his hormones have gone crazy! I’ll give him a couple of weeks.

He definitely shouldn’t be jumping up to high things as it might rip his stitches out. It’s hard when they’re full of energy, but it really is best to confine them for the first few days after a neuter for their own safety.

Peeing and pooping should calm down within a month.
