So I know feet flicking is a sign of “Ok, I’m done with you” or “Ugh, you annoy me”, but my bun does it a lot. And like, when he doesn’t have a reason to be annoyed. I’ll pet him for like 5 minutes, if I stop he’ll beg for more, and in the middle when HE is done, he’ll flick his feet as he goes back into his house, the come straight back out and want more pets.

I’ll give him some greens or banana, and when he’s finished eating, he’ll flick his feet at me while going back into his cage, then come back out and ask for pets.

Is there any OTHER reason than annoyance for feet flicking? It’s so disheartening because I didn’t do anything wrong and I’m being disrespected. Lol.

Maybe he’s getting too spoiled and is getting too dominant? I don’t know..

Just curious if anyone had insight on this. Or if it’s just a bun thing to roll your eyes at. (I mean, that’s why I’ve been doing, but it’s just like EXCUUUUUUSE me for doing what you want me to do.)

He is still un-neutered, still not sure of the sex (vet said boy, groomer said girl, I thought girl both times but personality is a lot like a boy), and a little over 4 months old. Half free-range bunny (open cage when I’m home and at night) that has everything in the world and still isn’t satisfied. Haha.

I think a lot of bunny behaviours have many different reasons. It all depends on context. For example, a binky is generally seen as an expression of utter joy or a random burst of energy but it can also be used to escape predators in the wild.

I wouldn’t be too concerned about foot flicking if he’s doing it after something positive. It could be a quirk of his lol. Oh and sometimes I think they do it after relaxing for a bit to stretch their legs out!

I think it may not always be personal. Wick flicks his feet after drinking water. I suspect because he’s annoyed he has to groom his wet chin.

My bun flicks his feet and “butts” me (sit with his back ostentatiously towards me) for only very petty complaints like not giving hin food when he begs. Treat it more as communication than judgement. If he is really upset he will run away. Personally I find it hilarious when he butts me and then runs over to lick me and then runs back and butts me and then runs back over to lick me again….
