Every once in a while, my rabbit (~3 years, female, spayed, indoor rabbit) will make a fairly loud (for a rabbit) noise like a grunt or a honk. She doesn’t seem to be annoyed or distressed, and is often relaxing when she makes the noise. She also doesn’t make the sound more than once at a time.
She went to see the vet for a checkup about a month ago and the vet didn’t see anything out of the ordinary or concerning, but I want to know if anyone has experienced something similar with their rabbit, and what it might mean.
        Thank you!

Some buns are more vocal than others. My rabbit Vilde is a vocal type of bun, he grunts and honks, but mostly when he is displeased (butt check, nail clipping etc). He has had his lungs listened to by two vets on two different occasions (when he was getting his jabs), but there was nothing wrong.

Some buns honk when they are expecting a treat. My bun Yohio growled like a tiny rottweiler when he was angry. My bunny Bam never made any noise ever, until he got a respiratory infection.

Noises to look out for are sobbing/ whining-type noises, the type that can come from labored breathing. It would be more marked when the bun is breathing quickly from excitement (for food for example) or fear.

Update: it turns out she was not making the noises. We have chickens, and their coop is right outside my window, which muffled the noise enough that I thought it was the rabbit
