Hi everybun!
Annabelle has been on antibiotics and metcam for 7 days now, she has three days remaining.
She was prescribed them because the vet heard crackles in her lungs when I took her in regarding some yellow mucus on her nose.
I was told if she does not get better, than to bring her in immediately. However, I didn’t even really know she was sick, and neither did the vet, until she listened to her lungs.
Anna has maintained good energy this entire time, has been flopping/laying stretched out like a hotdog/shows no signs of discomfort. She still runs across the room and jumps up to the bin where her treats are any time she sees me near it. Shes also eating normally.
My vet re-check appointment is Feb., 6th in the morning, which is just over a week away. I wasn’t concerned that is was so far away as her mucus seems to have disappeared. However, I just held her up to her ear and tried to listen to her lungs. I heard what I believe is a few lung crackles. I’d say one every 30 seconds or so.
I would take her into the vet sooner, but her vet is away for the rest of the week, and I can’t take her on the weekend or monday/tuesday of next week.
What do you think I should do? Can I wait that long? or is that too risky?
