Supposedly I’m going to get 4-5″ of snow where I live and I was thinking of setting up an X-pen for the rabbits to enjoy the snow in. Are there any precautions I should take? It won’t be for very long, maybe 15 minutes.

Lots of people let their buns play in the snow so it can be a very safe activity, you’ll just want to be sure to not stay out too long and monitor their interest. Some rabbits dig and play while others don’t love it. Also make sure you dry them off really well when you come back in so they don’t stay damp and cold, especially their feet. Warm, absorbent towels are great. If you take them out in a carrier I would also leave the carrier in the pen so they can hide, if needed.

Other than making sure the area is safe from predators and secure for their safety, have fun!

Bunnies absolutely love snow! Make sure they have a place to sit that isn’t in the snow, to give their feet a little break.
