        Hi all!

Annabelle has always had a bit of moisture on her upper lips because she drinks from a water bowl.

However, yesterday I noticed that the area around her noise and upper lips appeared to be yellow and moist.  It turned out to be dry to the touch, with the yellow-ish residue on her fur.  It didn’t appear matted, almost as if she had sipped from a juice which stained her fur.

Today looks the exact same as yesterday, so I do not believe there was more of this discharge yet.

She appears fine otherwise, and is eating/drinking normally.

Is this a big red flag? If she does have a runny nose is there anything I can do at home for her or is it an immediate vet situation?

        Thanks in advance

If the insides of hew paws are wet, its a sign she has been wiping her nose. She may have snuffles (bunny cold). Its not too serious, and is treatable by vet care and medications. It is best to nip snuffles right in the bud before it gets worse, leaving your rabbit weak and lethargic.

Thank you! Does it always require antibiotics? Could I wait a week to see if there is any change (looks to be going away)

I have never had a rabbit with snuffles, I just know what to look out for, so I don’t know if antibiotics are needed. If she is acting fine and the discharge is going away, it would prob be ok to wait and see. After she has fully recovered, clean all her stuff to destroy any remaining bacteria, and watch out for a recurrence of the disease.
