So me and my parents (I’m a minor) had to move houses. I know rabbits don’t do so well in new environments if they don’t get to explore a bit, before or after the move. However I can’t take my rabbit out of her cage because we’re still in the process of moving, therefore she’s stuck in a cage. (I can’t take her outside either because the fence has a little opening at the very bottom, meaning she can probably squeeze under it and run off into the street). She seemed very panicked at first (today is the first day). She’s still breathing heavily however I’ve managed to calm her down a bit by giving her head rubs. She won’t move off of her little platform and I’m worried she might be a bit shocked and scared. How can I make her a little bit more comfortable, at least in her own cage until we can clean the house and take her out to explore?

With most caged the pets, the best thing to do in a new environment is give them their space. You’ll want to give her about a week to adjust, not letting her out or bothering her too much as she gets used to her new environs. As long as she’s still eating/drinking, there’s probably nothing to worry about. She should calm down and start to relax soon, and then she’ll be ready to come out and explore!
