I am totally convinced Moonpaw knows when he’s doing things he shouldn’t.  The biggest thing is he’s not allowed in the bedrooms as they are not bunny proofed.  He is constantly trying to sneak in if a door is left open even a tiny crack.  If I walk into a room he is not supposed to be in he will see me, thump several times and dive to hide under something (this is the only time he’s ever thumped) because he knows I am going to make him leave.  I actually find this bratty behaviour totally endearing.

How about others?  What are some things your bunny likes to do that they know they aren’t supposed to?

I had a bunny that got out of her cage (she wasn’t free roamed) and when she saw me coming her way, went right back in.

They absolutely know when they’re doing something they shouldn’t. My previous bun Bandit was very intelligent, he would sit calmly and wait until I left the room to do something naughty. True story, I was on the couch using my laptop, Bandit was lounging on the floor rug. I had to pee but had a bad feeling about leaving my computer so I set it on the arm rest right against the edge of the wall and wrapped the cable in the blanket I was using. I was out of the room for maybe 30 seconds tops, when I came back Bandit was on the couch, he’d dug away the blanket to expose the cable and had chewed through it.

Or if he was just in the mood to be naughty, he would go and do something and then binky away every time I told him off. 2 minutes later he’d be back at it, I’d tell him off again and shoo him away and he’d binky off. Little stinker, it was hilarious though ?

In my old house, Buttercup used to make it her mission to get into the pantry. She’d sprint across the room as soon as I opened it if she was feeling cheeky but if she wanted to be sure not to get caught she’d try and hide near a little nook that was right by the pantry so she’d have less distance to run when I opened it. I swear once I saw her walk right close to the wall trying to blend in (she’s white, walls were white) just to get close to it ??

Peanut is naughty too and completely aware of it. I was cleaning up pee that I know was him and the whole time I was, he wouldn’t come out of the castle. I left the room for less than a minute, came back and he’d got up and peed again in the same spot and when he saw that I’d spotted him…my god I swear his expression was ‘s*** I’ve been caught’ ?

Nora is a baseboard-chewing, ripping-up-carpet fiend, and she knows she’s not supposed to do it. When I hear her doing either of these and if clapping my hands together doesn’t work to get her to stop, I’ll get up and start walking towards her and – like Azerane said about her Bandit – she will actually binky away from me, complete with head shakes and everything. Then when I sit back down she’ll go back to the same spot, and when I move to get up she binkies away from it again, as if she’s playing a game and laughing at me. Such big sassy attitudes in tiny little bodies.

Elara knows she’s not allowed to dig on the couch (she’s not so much damage to them!). If I leave the room, she will often jump up there and when I come back in the room, as soon as she knows I’m there, she hops off and zooms away. Little stinker!!!!
