For some background: My rabbit bean lives inside my home, but I still live with my parents so it kills me that he has to only stay on my room and he lives in a cage I got from petco. I let him out to run around every chance I get.
Yesterday while he was exercising, I noticed he had some poop stuck to his butt. I think he had a small case of diarrhea. Typical of a rabbit and also from a fairly traumatic event when he was a baby, he HATES water. So last night was the second time in his little over a year life that I put some wet towels in the tub to hopefully clean off his little bunny butt.
It was a fight and I left with some battle scars, but I was able to clean him off completely. I brought him back upstairs and set him free to apologize, within an hour or so he forgave me and came back so I could put him away. He’s litter trained himself, so he went straight to his corner to go potty. It was late at night and I had just cleaned his cage, so I decided to check his poops this morning.
And this is where I got nervous. He went pee, but there’s little to no poop there. Only a few unusually small drops. I let him out and of course he’s acting completely fine, there’s no poop stuck to his butt. He’s binkying like normal and coming up to me when he wants attention, grunting and all. It’s been a little over twelve hours since I cleaned him off. I called the vet and I can’t get in until January 14th unless I pay extra if this is an emergency. But i’m unsure how much I should really be concerned. I would really appreciate some advice from some fellow rabbit owners on this situation
thank you
