        Hi everyone,

This is my first post but I’ve lurked a little bit.
So basically I’m a relatively new bunny owner, just got my first rabbit beginning of last February, she was 8-10wks old so is now 1 year. She’s been spayed, in the summer. She lives in my bedroom roaming free and is absolutely showered with love, toys, attention and treats! I work from home so we have a lot of time together and it’s just us 2.
So she’s always been really affectionate and absolutely loved strokes, I could stroke her for 10 solid minutes and she still wanted more, and constantly licked me. Never liked being picked up but neither do most rabbits so I don’t even try to pick her up, just loads and loads of strokes. But she seems to have completely changed, doesn’t seem to want me anywhere near her, just not interested and actively dislikes any strokes! She’s happy in herself, still plays lots, but isn’t interested in me anymore. It sounds so silly but I really am devastated, we had such a lovely bond and I can’t think of any reason she’s all of a sudden decided to have nothing to do with me, it’s so sad I’ve actually cried a couple times as I miss her!
So yeah just feeling really pathetic and wondered if you guys could offer any advice?

Do you ever just sit on the ground and just completely ignore her? Act like she doesn’t exist, like she’s the last bun you want to interact with? That usually does it for my moody bun.

Is she molting? Some bunnies get moody when they’re molting or about to start molting. It’s nothing you’ve done, just something they need to work out. When my boys are molting they don’t like to exercise much and they don’t enjoy being touched (Bombur loves snuggles, so I usually know it’s coming).

Whenever a bun has a dramatic behavior change my mind goes to a medical issue. Buns are so good at hiding pain, that there might just be one symptom.

Molting can definitely make buns moody, but if that’s not the case, I would have a thorough check up at the vet just to rule out anything.

Dental issues especially can have weird symptoms, and might make her not want to be stroked (if her face hurts). I had a bun with crazy dental issues and he was always very reluctant to have his face touched.

The other thing it could be is a strange scent. Has anything changed in your day outside home? Maybe a co-worker bringing their dog in, or something else that might make you smell weird to her?
