My Holland Lop will be four months old tomorrow, and I’m wondering when he will be done growing? The woman I got him from said that he should be about 3-3.5 pounds when he is fully grown, but right now he is still only 2 pounds 3 ounces and doesn’t seem to be gaining weight that quickly. I read somewhere that they are usually fully grown around 5-6 months, and if that’s the case he doesn’t seem to be on track to reach 3 pounds by then. He is definitely getting larger so I’m worried that he is underweight. I don’t free feed pellets because I don’t want him to become too dependant on them and I want him to be a good hay eater. I guess my question is, does 2 pounds 3 ounces sound like an okay weight for a four-month-old? He is getting neutered in about a month so I want him to be as healthy as possible before that.

Have you taken him to a rabbit savvy vet? They can tell you exactly what his weight should be and what diet to feed him. My holland is about 5 poounds but she is over 2 years old so I’d say around month 6/7 is when they stop growing

I believe my Holland Lop Storm was about that weight when she was 4 months old, so I wouldn’t be too concerned about that. How much and how often do you feed your bunny pellets? Are they timothy pellets or alfalfa pellets?

Holland Lops are dwarf breeds, so if you have a true dwarf they aren’t going to be much bigger than 3 pounds. Some are as small as 2.5 pounds fully grown. I have two false dwarf Holland Lops that are 5 pounds each. So they’re much bigger than a true dwarf. They were about 4.5 pounds at 6 months, and didn’t grow much more after that. They’re also almost 2.
