Hi, I recently just got a baby bunny about 3 days ago, he’s around 4 months. I did extensive research on one before I got one, but now I’m just a little nervous about him. I’ve been opening his door to his cage to allow him to explore my room if he desires. He really hasn’t been interested in coming out at all. The other day my father took him out of the cage while I spot cleaned it, and afterwords instead of putting him back into the cage I put him on the floor outside of my cage. He started exploring, doing bunny 500’s and having fun. He sniffed me and let me pet him. However, he never went back into his cage. I had to pick him up and put him back in, and I really don’t like picking him up because it scares him so bad and I want him to like me. Now I have the door open again but he isn’t coming out. I don’t know if he’s scared of coming in and out of his cage or if he just physically can’t because the door is too high, even though I’ve put objects to use as steps to help him. I don’t want to forcefully remove him out of his cage to clean it or to let him out for exercise, and I don’t like picking him up to put in the cage afterwords since he doesn’t go back in. so what should I do? Do I just give him more time or..?
