So I’ve had my bunny Addie for 3 1/2 months now and we have developed a great bond. She is free roam within my bedroom and gets the entire downstairs of our house whenever someone is home and able to keep an eye on her (it is bunny proofed and she can’t get to cords or anything dangerous but she still sometimes manages to find a way to get somewhere she isn’t supposed to) We have the same routine everyday. She wakes me up with kisses and binkies at 6:30, she gets a bowl of fresh greens for breakfast and then comes back to bed and cuddles for half an hour. I then get ready for school and change her little, give her fresh water and hay. I leave at 9:15. At nighttime I get home between 4 and 6 and she has dinner (more greens) at 6 every night. My family gets home at 3:15 everyday so she gets let out for playtime as soon as they are home. She gets pellets at 8 and then we go to bed around 11. Yesterday morning she was totally fine. We did our morning routine and then I left for school. When I got home at 6 my family told me she’s been very skittish since they got there at least. She proceeded to be that way the rest of the night and I hoped she was just having a bad day yet this morning she is still acting that way. She still woke me up as usual but once I fed her she began hiding and farting across the room to hide in different spots. I wouldn’t even be moving. She would also suddenly perk her ears up and turn her head to stare at nothing and proceed to thump very loudly and then run and hide again. I don’t know what happened! We have no other pets and none of us have been around other animals so we wouldn’t have unusual scents on us. The routine was not broken at all and within the time of me leaving at 9:15 and my family getting home at 3:15 there was a complete 180 in her behavior. She’s not at all aggressive just very scared. Help!
One other note, she does go to the vet today for a prespay check up. The surgery is on Monday. Could it just be a sudden surge of hormones?
Thanks in advance!
