So I have a deposit on an adorable little male netherland dwarf and just today I also fell in love with a baby holland lop. Both are 7 weeks old. I know I would have to bond them after they have matured and have been neutered but is it likely that they can be bonded? I would love to get the holland lop but I dont want to do that if theres no/little chance of bonding with the nethie. Thanks for any insight and suggestions. Will they be able to stay in the same room in separate cages until neutering??

Edit: the holland lop is also a male. There were no females and I just fell in love instantly

It’s great you’re ready to give two buns a loving home Bear would be happy for you and them!

As for bonding, it’ll really just come down to personality. At that age you really don’t know if they’ll bond or not. But most buns are certainly bondable. Just keep their cages together. Have them share everything. And go through the proper bonding process, and there’s really no reason for them not to.

Whether they bond or not has nothing to do with breed. I strongly believe that most rabbits can be bonded if proper protocol is taken. Some just take a bit more time.

Bladesmith had a lovely bonded pair – Clover and Dawn. Clover was a chinchilla breed (?) and Dawn is a Nethie. Clover has sadly passed away but they were a truely adorable pair. The size difference alone was hilarious ?
