Kuro does this thing with his paw when he lays down sometimes. It sort of shakes a little and then he stops. I included a video of it. Is this normal? Or something I should be concerned about?

Welcome to BB! There’s no video attached. We recommend you upload to a site like YouTube and share the link. That’s easiest for users to access.

Does it occur when your rabbit seems asleep? I know Wick paws the ground when he’s sleeping.

One of mine has a weird paw movement usually after eating or using the litter tray – or jsut before she starts grooming.

Thank you! It doesn’t seem to happen when he is asleep. It only really happens when he first lays down. He sort of lifts it a little off the floor and shakes it. It stops quickly after

That’s what it looks like. The little shake they do before grooming or after using the litter box. I don’t know why he would be doing it after laying down though. It doesn’t last very long, just a second or two. It’s very odd.

I think I’ve discovered what this was. When he was doing this, his nails hadn’t been clipped in a while. I think he was catching his nail on the carpet, the movement he was making with his paw is similar to what some bunnies do after having their nail clipped.

All of mine do this, and have ever since I got them (even right after I clip their nails). I think they are trying to clean off any bedding off their paws before grooming themselves.
