So I currently live in Ohio with my two bonded holland lop rabbits. I was planning on going back home to Florida for a month for winter break but I’m kinda worried to fly with my two rabbits. It’s a two and a half hour direct flight where they can be in the cabin with me (on Frontier). I just don’t know if a month is worth stressing them out with a plane ride, they hate a 15 minute car ride to the vet. Im also worried about them being kinda short snouted, I’ve heard horror stories about bulldogs on planes having difficulties breathing and I’m not really sure whether or not thats applicable to them. I’ve thought about leaving them with a rabbit sitter but a month is a really long time and I can’t find any rabbit sitters around the Cleveland area. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I know what you mean about bunnies getting scared in car rides. This seems like a pretty tricky situation, but in my opinion I would keep your buns at home. The stress and multiple changes and new environments could be really bad on them, and could change their eating habits which leads into a lot. When my bun is scared and stressed he won’t eat. Also the whole airport checkout, and the air pressure of them being in the air will spook them. If you do have no choice than to bring them because you can’t find a sitter, I recommend bringing their cages (if they use them) and keep them the exact same so they have their own safe spots. Have your bunnies been bonded for awhile? Sometimes when they’re really stressed they get aggressive and a fight could break out on the plane. I hope I helped a little!
