  For almost two weeks now, Freddie has been fighting an infection which we don’t know the nature off.the vet prescribed Baytril, his eyes are getting red and his head is so tilted, poor Fred. I don’t know what to do to make him more comfortable, it’s so sad to watch him struggle.
  His balance is very bad.
  Yet he eats so well, he seems to be wanting to fight this so hard.
  
  I was wondering if any of you had any experience with reaction to Baytril.
  Of course, it’s hard to tell whether it’s the infection or the drug, but
  
  Can Baytril make the rabbit more passive and red eyed?
  
  I feel like being a good girl listening to the vet and make him take his dosage (40mg twice a day) + metacam) but I’m so worried seeing him like that that I can’t stop myself thinking ‘what if the vet got it wrong and we are doing him more harm…’
  
  Please any help if you can would be most appreciate in our distressing situation.

  Many rabbits, including my Wick, have used Baytril for various infections and I’ve never heard of such side effects. Wick was on baytril for 4 months and had no issues. I’m tempted to say the infection affecting your rabbit may be the culprit. Have you called your vet to update him/her on his condition?
  
  When I read head tilt, I automatically think of e cuniculi (EC), which is a well-known infection in rabbits. It is treatable, but you need to use the correct medication.
