You guys, this is the cutest story EVER… (only a slight exaggeration).
So, none of our pets are allowed in the bedrooms, with one exception. Each night when my husband goes to read our daughter a bed time story (which currently happens to be part of the Redwall series) he leaves the door open and all the cats come in the room and snuggle with my daughter while she’s being read to, then they get kicked out when it’s time to go to sleep. Lately the bunny, Moonpaw, has started to follow all the cats into the room and just sits on the carpet while the story is read, then is herded out with the rest of them. Well tonight I noticed the bunny sitting in the hallway about an hour before bed, which is odd because he never hangs out there. I kept tripping over him, but he refused to move. He’d been sitting there quite a while when I went into my daughter’s room to put the laundry away and he hopped right in and went to his spot. He had been waiting for his bed time story for like an hour!
Now, I don’t actually think he has any clue why he’s going in the room, it’s just become part of his daily routine, but it is too cute!!!

Aww!! I think he probably does know. They can have an uncanny sense of timing.

This is such an adorable tradition for your daughter. And Moonpaw wants to be part of the family time. <3. I bet you it won't be long before he joins the others up on the bed!

Oh they definitely know what’s going on. I let the boys out in every 2.5 hour increments when I’m home. So bun1 will be out like 7pm-9:30 and bun2 9:30-12am. And they know instinctively when it’s they’re turn to come out. Everything from what’s happening in the room to the specific time of day cues them in. Az especially has a keen sense. since May we’ve been letting them take turns being the overnight bunny. Whenever it’s Asriel’s night, he knows exactly what time I go to bed. So he’ll hop right to my spot on the bed and just patiently wait for me to get there. As soon as I turn off the light, he gets into a comfy position and we have bedtime snuggles for 15 minutes. Sometimes he gets impatient when I’m plugging in the phone and he’ll put his front paws on me. Even with food time. They know exactly when they get fed in the morning and at night, and on weekends and weekdays.

Oh, how adorable! A bit like the scene from Snow White where all the animals from the forest line up in the windows to watch the dancing =)

Oh, Moonpaw absolutely knows whats going on! In that he/she(?) knows the whole family is getting together and wants to be with the family.

                      That’s an adorable story!
