I was checking my bunnies body a few minutes ago like I always do , and I was checking her anus and I noticed when I pulled back the skin that these 2 long, maybe 3/4 of an inch or inch long, very thin, pale string like were in there. I took them out, they didn’t move and could be rolled or squished up really easily. She he’s acting normal chewing everything up she was throwing up her fleece blanket, toys.. her poop is normal, eating normal, I’m just worried and hope it’s not fly’s time or pin worms, but she hasn’t been around any other bunny since I got her more than 5 months ago. We get flies in the house but I never notice them in my room where I keep her. Any help, or explanation would be helpful.

Maggots are smaller than that and have a distinct head. Worms are thin, thread-like and somewhat translucent. MediRabbit has pictures: http://www.medirabbit.com/EN/GI_diseases/Parasitic_diseases/Nem_gen/Nematodes.htm

Thanks! It kind of looked like it, except I don’t see any in her poop, I keep checkking her butt but I haven’t seen any more.

Is there a way you can take a picture of it? Pinworms( I am learning in my invertebrate class) usually will reproduce and put the eggs right outside of the anus, the worms may have just infected him so they haven’t reproduced yet so you have may have been seeing the female worms getting ready to lay eggs or they were inspecting the area.
