Hello! I am sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is the best food for your bunny? I have a Male bunny, and he doesn’t really like his hay, he likes his timothy pellets more, so I wanna try something different for him.

        Thank you.

Hay is the best food so you will really want to encourage him eating more of that. It should be about 80% of his diet.

What type of hay have you tried?

How old is your rabbit? What size serve of pellets does he get each day?

Many rabbits love their pellets so I’m not surprised he likes them more then hay. But too many pellets can cause problems and too little hay can also.

            Hi!
Bunnies have to have hay as the main part of their diet, in addition to veggies and pellets. It’s definitely common to have a bunny that loves their pellets. Mine certainly does! But she has access to Timothy hay at all times, and has about 2 tbsp of pellets per day. She’s a medium sized bunny, so that tends to be the standard amount. If you’re feeding too many pellets, that can cause them to not want to eat as much hay, which is needed for them to digest things properly. If you’re trying Timothy hay right now, I’d maybe add in some orchard grass hay or any other grass hay (meadow, oat, etc.) as long as your bunny isn’t a super young bunny of course. I’ve also mixed in some dried fruit pieces with my hay, and that has definitely encouraged my bunny to eat more hay. About a cup or two of veggies per day is also a good idea. There’s plenty of websites that list bunny safe veggies, but Paisleys favourites are spring mix, parsley and mint.

            Hope that helped!!

A lot of people have trouble getting their bunnies to eat hay. Limit his pellets and keep offering hay. You can try 2nd cut timothy or orchard which are softer. There are other types of hay you can try and see if he likes.
