        Hi,
I was wondering if I could get some advice on my 6 year old house rabbit. The other day I noticed her nose looked puffy, it was protruding from the side and had widened a bit. I took to the vet straight away and she said it may have been caused by an allergic reaction, so I was given some piriton to give to her. The next day, her nose has gone down a bit but now both of her ears had gone puffy too. So I took her straight back to the vet and she said this could still be caused by an allergic reaction. Three days on and her ears and nose have still not properly gone down.
Anyone have any ideas on what could have caused this swelling? She’s still eating her pellets and hay fine and is still drinking. And she’s still active.
Any information would be appreciated. Thank you

Do you have any ideas about the allergen itself? The medication may make it go away, but additional interaction with the allergen will make the symptoms come back.

Are you in the UK Abi? You mention piriton, which I know to be a UK brand…

I hate to say it but swellings make me think of myxomatosis. Have you checked her genitals for any swelling?

JG has a point. That was my initial thought as well.
