        Hey guys!

I’m a little new to this forum – and owning buns in general. We’re looking to get our bun altered as soon as possible but our vet wanted to know a ballpark of it’s age, as they said any bun over 2 they need to have additional costs for bloodwork for. My bun has been at the store we got her from since July of this year, roughly, and they posted this photo in July which would’ve been when it was taken: http://tinypic.com/r/2eurcw7/9 This is a photo of her from yesterday: http://tinypic.com/r/hu39yw/9 So these photos were taken about 3 months apart. When I asked the store how old she was (today), they estimated about a year and a half. Is a bun really still that small at a year and 2-3 months, then experiences some sort of growth spurt or were they just very inaccurate with their guess? I’d say from other animals she seems like maybe 6 months old to me…

For reference she is also a lionhead, not sure if that helps much.

If anyone could take a guess at her age it would be a huge help! I don’t think the pet store is right but I’m not sure how they would have gotten that number unless they took a guess or she came to the store too young maybe?

        Thanks!

Aw, beautiful bunny! I think it’s safe to say she is definitely under 2 years of age, so your vet shouldn’t need to do pre-anaesthetic
bloodwork. That is something you can opt for though, at what ever age your rabbit is.

I think you are more accurate with your guess then the store.
Most the growing happens when they’re under a year old. Do you happen to know what she weighed when you brought her home?

Behaviour can be another clue-if you started noting some changes. Maybe some growling, hiding away more or being territorial about her space. Less likely tolerating being picked up etc.
