Bentley is still very young but I wanted to start my search for a bunny savvy vet for his neuter. I live in east lyme CT which is southern CT and was wondering if anyone knows a good vet that has had high success rates for neuters. I know neuters is easier to do than spays but I want to make sure I do my best to find some who is the best. also it would be nice if it didn’t cost an arm and a leg lol but I do understand it will be expensive.

Hey olliebun. I’m not from the area, but the House Rabbit Society’s website has lists of vets across the country.

When contacting vets, you can absolutely ask them frankly about their experience. I find it’s helpful to ask what they suggest for pre and post op care in terms of neutering. Conscientious vets will be able to provide some good instructions, while other vets will not say much.

I had a look on the usual list I check and didn’t have much luck! Hoping a member for your area has a recommendation for you.
My suggestions are, if you have Facebook, post on the House Rabbit Society’s page to ask members/readers there. And check out SpayUSA to see if any clinics in your area also do rabbits. Some may have scheduled days where they have a experience rabbit vet on board.

Hi, just noticed this here, so sorry for the late reply… see you’re in southern CT, if you don’t mind coming over into the Hudson valley area a little bit you have Franklin Lakes Animal Hospital and also Pomptom Lakes animal Hospital. Both have Rabbit Savy vets, both are not listed on the house rabbit society page… I guess they have not updated… but I was very pleased with the all my contacts with Franklin Lakes and have decided that they are going to be the place I’m bringing BunBun for her care. Plus, I have two of my neighbors who highly recommended them… hope this helped
