I think one of our buns has some bunny diarrhea. I found some wet, brown colored liquid in their litter pan and cannot tell if it is diarrhea or not. No idea which bun it is but took all food except hay amd water out of their area, and will see how they are in the morning. My husband has a really bad habit of giving them treats that are NOT healthy and he will be yelled at once he gets home. Do I need to be worried all night or just wait and see what happens? Thanks.

Are they still eating and drinking well? Usually watery diarrhea is considered an emergency situation because they can get dehydrated so quickly. The other option is that it could be pee, though unusual for it to be brown. If they are still eating and drinking well and doing normal poops as well, it could be ok.

You’ve done the right thing by removing other foods and encouraging them to eat hay, are they used to eating leafy greens? Some of their normal greens freshly rinsed could be useful to get them rehydrated.

Yes. The one that I suspect gave me a nice pile of normal poops and they are very used to leafy greens. They really don’t like their greens wet but Should I wet them down slightly and put them back in or just wait till the morning?

I would give them some wet greens, just to aid hydration.

Great that he gave normal poops! True diarrhea is dignosed partly byu the (total) absence of normal poop. That makes a huge difference, because true diarrhea is a vet emergency whereas sticky/ liquid poop is known as intermittent soft cecotropes and generally quite manageable at home.

Well, no more brown liquid today. There was a little bit in their litter this morning and none since then. My husband agreed to stop giving them inappropriate treats as I pointed out that if they ended up at the vets (over an hour away) that HE would be taking them and HE would have to spend his money that he makes from his second job that he spends on himself. He got the point really quickly. Thanks everyone!!!
