Now that Blossom and Thumper are older (we’ve had them for almost 5 months now ?) so their features have become more prominent (I think that’s the right word) so I’ve been looking at rabbit breeds to find a possibility of what mix they are and holy cow it’s kinda dificult! It makes things more difficult because I don’t know their current weight either. I know that they’re both part lop (they come from the same litter) because one of Thumper’s ears fell, I was thinking that they’re part Mini Lop or Plush Lop (I’m leaning closer to the Mini Lop but I don’t know) and I was thinking that they could also be part Mini Rex/Rex breed but I seen some Palomino, Mini Satin/Satin, and Silver rabbits that look A LOT like Thumper and Blossom. I even seen a Flemish Giant picture that looked exactly like Blossom but I’m extremely skeptical about that one. I don’t know what to think or suspect what breed mix they are now, without their weights does anyone have a clue to what they could be?

Their newest pictures are in this thread: https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/aft/168890/afpg/2/Default.aspx

How much do they weigh now?

            What beauties!

Do you know an approximate weight? And are they siblings? Blossom does have the same color as a palomino, so pretty! I’m not sure if that color is present in other breeds, or if it’s its own thing.

Rex’s have a very distinctive coat, so I think you’d know more easily if they were rex. They look like they could be New Zealand mixed with something else?

The shape of the back is a useful feature, so if you can post a pic in the typical “show bunny” smooshed up shape it might help!

No idea, I don’t think we have any kind of scale anymore since it’s hard to get an accurate reading due to where we live.

Thanks! ? My dad and I came up with an extremely rough estimate of 3lbs-6lbs and yep, they are. I know that people say that rex rabbits are really soft and that’s one of the reasons I thought they could be part rex, they feel like how I imagine a cloud would feel like. ? I’ll try to get a photo or 2 of them in the show bunny poses and I’ll try to upload them as soon as I can.

Not going by color, I would say that Blossom’s body type reminds me of Havana.

Hmmm, well at 3-6lbs then they prob dont have any giant breed in them.

Rex’s feel like velvet, their fur is very short and dense.

Well, considering they are mixes and the fact that the rex fur gene is recessive, you can definitely have a rex mix without the rex fur. They don’t really have the features of a rex though. But it might be hard to tell if they have normal fur.

LOL that’s what I thought! XD Anyway I got some pictures, they’re not the best but they are the best of the bunch that I took and I hope they work, I’ve been fighting with my computer for a little over half an hour now. Also don’t mind Thumpers little paws/feet, they were digging in the sandbox shortly before their picture was taken.
