I was wondering if anyone can recommend a vet that’s experienced with rabbits either in the high desert area (preferred) or Los Angeles area for a female spay that doesn’t charge too much. I’ve called around a few places and was told it can be up to 1,000 to spay my female rabbit.

Hi! Spays are usually around $200-400 depending on how skilled the vet is. Have you checked this website for vets near you? And the vets you’re calling, are they rabbit savvy or only deal with cats and dogs?

Some areas will have low cost spay/neuter programs that cover rabbits, along with cats and dogs.
If you take a look at this page, the second half lists rabbit vets and also some low cost clinics for each county.

              Hi there,

Not sure about your area specifically, but that seems extreme, so I would keep looking. You can try contacting rabbit rescues in your area and see if they have recommendations. I’m in Santa Barbara and go to Adobe Pet Hospital. Not sure of their rates but our shelter goes through them for speuters.
