Heey so very new here, on the 28th my bunny had surgery to remove Breast tumors, mammarys and getting desexed at the same time. She’s made it through complication after complication and just when I thought my girl was better she’s got loud gurgling coming from her tummy. Due to her not being able to have her staples out for another 2 days, I’m unable to massage her abdomen to give her some relief ? 2 nights ago she had an episode where she went freezing and stiff, wouldn’t move, drank heaps of water, grinding her teeth and she stopped pooping and peeing. She spent the day at the vet (from 8:30am to 4pm) and they treated her with pain relief and Metamide. They were happy that her gut was working, and suggested maybe she had just eaten too much of the same thing. Although the gurgling continues and I’m STRESSING. Although she needs to go to the vets to get her staples out in 2 days, I will get her to a vet tomorrow and see what can be done about the noises. I can feel where the gas is when I giggle her tummy a little bit. She’s eating well, enjoying her normal bunny chew, curious and exploring, but the sound remains? She is pooping, due to the surgery and the hardship it was to get her eating again her poops are small but getting bigger and more regular each day. I have spent over $1200 in 2 weeks getting her to recover that I can’t afford to run out and get baby gas drops. Does anyone have any tips to help get rid of some of these sounds without tummy massages or baby gas drops? Or if I’m over reacting and it’s just harder digesting when she’s not had much room to run lately due to her healing? I did take her to a bigger room to have a run around but not much success yet ? I was given Metamide pills that I can crush and give her but they were for if she stops eating to get her appetite up, I don’t know if that works for gas or if it’ll just make it worse? It’s 8:30pm where I live now so I’m unable to call into her vet! But if anyone knows I would greatly appreciate that as google isn’t that helpful!
