First post on the BinkyBunny forums! Anyways- My bunny ate a huge portion of this T shirt that was lying on the floor last night. He’s never at fabric before, just leather purse and shoes! Worst part is, He didn’t just tear it out, cause I can’t find the missing patch of fabric ANYWHERE.

He’s had normal eating, drinking, and pooping behavior but I’m just so worried because it’s a huge piece of fabric for a bunny his size (about 3 inches, I put my palm next to it for comparison) and of course it was the part with printed ink on it. Has anyone experienced this before? He’s my baby and nothing can happen to him!

side note: he always growls and chases around dogs and pounces on him, now I know he REALLY does NOT like dogs after eating the picture of one lol

          Oh no! Cheaky guy!
I know most bunny’s REALLY chew what they are eating quite well – how long has it been since you found the shirt to when you posted with him still eating and drinking and acting fine?

I would make sure he’s eating lots of hay to keep things moving and keep an eye on his poop output – I would suggest cleaning his litter and any stray poops so you can see what is new poops. And maybe clean it out of poops a few times today if you can.. You want to insure he doesn’t get any blockages from the fabric.

Of course, as I’m sure I don’t need to mention, if he stops eating / pooping or starts to act different then get him to a rabbit savy vet asap.

My bunny ate a huge piece of carpet once – she’d dug at it before, but not like this… and I freaked out just like I’m sure you are!. She was ok thank goodness, but its good that you found it so that you can monitor her!

That’s a pretty significant portion of fabric fibers. As suggested, keep an eye out for ill signs and definitely encourage water and hay consumption to help get it through.

There are cases where rabbits eat a ton of fabric and they are fine, then you have rabbits like my Wick who eats one carpet fiber and is massively impaired by it. Keep an eye out!

Thank you guys so much! I have changed his litter as suggested, his poops are so far normal! I’ll keep updating, but it has been about 15-20 hours since he ate it, and so far he is doing fine.
