Hi,
I’m new to this forum and is my first post. I can’t find answers any where for my problem.
My 4 year old rabbit has started nipping. I had recently moved house and it has taken a few weeks for him to settle in and become friendly again, I think the move unsettled him. However, he’s now at the friendliest he’s ever been, we have been feeding him out of our hands to create a bondagain. He has never liked being picked up and cuddled but if I sit on the floor he will hop onto my lap and nudge me ect.
But he has started nipping. The other week he nipped me when I picked him up but I put it down to him not liking being picked up. However, this evening I was sat on the floor letting him run around and he ran up nipped me then ran away again. Beforehand he was nudging me, hopping on my lap and eating out my hand… He didn’t appear unhappy. He had a vet check the other week and he said he was healthy so I don’t think he’s in pain.
Is nipping a sign of affection? It didn’t seem affectionate as he ran away afterwards. I would really appreciate any advice I love him so much and would hate for him to be angry or upset.
Thanks,
Ellie
