Hi everyone!
We recently adopted a second mini-rex into our family. We already had a mini-rex just shy of a year old.
The new little guy (Reeces) will not touch our hard floors. We have tile and hardwood in 75% of our first floor and he wants nothing to do with it. Even in his cage he will hop from mat to towel to not touch the floor (We currently have linoleum down until bonding toilet habits are better established.)
We were hoping this little guy would be free roaming while we are home like our other bun…but we can’t have him trapped in the only room with carpet if he refuses to traverse over the hard floor back to his litter box!
He is quite the hefty fellow so I don’t think he has ever had access to free roam.
We have tried offering all of the usual favorites to coax him onto the floor. I have even gently guided him to the hardwood floor and
he just plops down immediately.
Any suggestions??
The difficult bonding of these two is a whole other topic…but I’d love to help this guy learn to enjoy his new home!
