My 2 year old neutered bunny girl is really sweet. She has a biiiig 3 floor cage that I built her myself, with a litter box inside it. She uses it just right
Outside of the cage, she has a litter box on the place she chose to pee: on the corner of the room. She used it right for a year, but suddenly started to sometimes pee outside of the litter box, just next to it. She pees outside the litter box at least once a day. Since I started to clean it with vinegar, she stopped peeing on the same spot, but keep peeing just next to the litter box.
I tried to put objects (tunels, toys), but she just goes on top of them and pees on everything.
The weird thing? It seems like she does this because she enjoys it! Everytime I FIRMLY say no, she just stops and start to do some binkies.
Also, I’ve travelled a few times since she started doing it and I notice that when we come back, she takes a month to start peeing outside the litter box again.
Her litter box is big, and I always leave hay inside. I don’t know what else to do. Help?

If she’s peeing outside the litter box, something may be wrong with her urinary system. Either a bladder stone, UTI, or even EC. My Bombur has EC and his main symptom was peeing outside the litter box, specifically peeing right next to it. Obviously I’m not saying you girl has EC, but honestly it’s worth a vet visit to see if her urinary system is alright, especially if she is litter trained. Do you know if she drinks a lot of water during the day too?

My Bunny Belle is peeing on my bed! One day she’ll pee in the litter box and then on my bed, so I’m kinda in the same boat of not understanding why. She’s 4 1/2 months old and her cage is right next to my bed so that might be my problem. Good luck

Bunny Belle- yours is likely due to hormones at that age. Once she’s spayed you’ll be able to successfully litter train her

I once took her to the vet and he said she was fine… I don’t think it’s something like that, since she pees on the right place when inside her cage or in the garden. Maybe is a territory thing? I noticed she doesn’t really like when I get too close to that litter box, she starts to follow me very closely, watching every step I take. I never clean it with her around, though.
