  On September 2 Lily and Cocoa will turn one! What are some good handmade toys I can make them? I bought them a hiding house but I cant buy anything else since I need to save my money for the vet bills. They are each getting a mini cake with frosting. I make homemade dog treats a lot. they are just peanut butter, oats, and banana. Could the bunnies have a small piece of those?

  Make something out of cardboard. Like perhaps a maze made from several boxes or a castle. Buns love to chew cardboard. Peanut butter is not safe for bunnies and can really upset their stomachs. Oats and banana are obviously okay as long as you keep it to a a few teaspoons every few days. So if you don’t want to go buy store bought treats like those Oxbow hearts, just stick with a small bit of oat and banana. Oats you do have to be careful with because some bunny tums don’t react well with oats either.

  Okay thanks. I’ve seen pictures of people giving their bunnies peanut butter but I wasn’t sure. I need smaller items because they have to go in their pen or cage. It would also be outside so small cardboard items I can bring inside but nothing big when it rains

  You could try weaving a mat with strips of cardboard. Might hold up better than newspaper

  I did make a card board one but it wouldn’t stay together without glue which I assume is unsafe. I may make a few so I can replace them. Any other ideas? Mats and toys with food are best.

  Happy Birthday Lily and Cocoa! I will be serving them bunny cupcakes with frosting this afternoon. This morning they got a brand new hiding house! This Afternoon they will get the rest of their presents. I am about to start making a little happy birthday sign to take pictures in front of. I will use an old t shirt as the backround because I have a really pretty blue one
