I have had rabbits as a child but have always kept them outdoors. However we have bought a rabbit as I feel our children re now old enough to help and appreciate an animal but have never had a house rabbit.
We have had our bunny a month and provided a littler tray and are trying to scoop any wees and poos into it but Oreo doesn’t seem in the least bit interested and will poo anywhere he likes he’s also taken a fancy to weeing in the front room right in front of me.
He isn’t yet neutered and we will be doing that in a month or so will this help?
I used to have the hay over the litter tray which used to help but now the back of the litter tray is too high for me to put it over the tray, any advice or help would be much appreciated
        Thanks

Hi, congrats on the bun! I suggest you read BUNNY INFO and house rabbit societies website for bunny information.

As far as litter training, it’s very very hard to litter train an unfixed bun, it will be way easier when he is neutered. As long as you can hold out until he goes in for surgery, itl be a breeze after!

My bunny Allen took a little while to train to go on puppy pads, but we are starting litter training in the next week (once his pans are delivered). How old is your bunny? Allen isn’t neutered and I don’t know if litter training is harder than puppy pads, but I started training him when he was a baby, which probably made it a bit easier. I began with putting drop cloth over our couch which is where he spent most of his time at first. Every time he would pee or poop on the drop cloth I would pick him up and place him on his pads. Eventually he started hopping off the couch to go bathroom where he was supposed to! He hasn’t done it in a long time, but Allen has taken a few defiant pees also right in front of me, just next to his pads. I think sometimes they just want us to watch them be bad lol Good luck and I hope everything works out for your family and bun!

So young! I bet you’ll do great since you have a bit of a head start with a baby
