My silly girl Chickpea started a new thing this past week… she loves to lick me! My face mostly, but also my arms, shoulders, pretty much anywhere near my head.

I’ve only had her a month, but she’s very happy here and is super affectionate with me. She’s 11 months old and isn’t spayed yet. She loves to snuggle, hop around me, and honk at me.

When she first licked my nose a little last week I thought she was just being affectionate, but it’s getting a little intense! Lol!

So is she in love with me? Does she think I’m dirty? Do I taste yummy? Is she trying to make me smell like her?

Part of it is probably her hormones and part of it is that she loves you! The honking and circling is her being hormonal. I really suggest you get her spayed by a rabbit savvy vet so she doesn’t get uterine cancer

Definitely getting her spayed! I want her to live forever :p

I’m actually calling up a few vets tomorrow and will hopefully schedule an initial appointment to get the ball rolling!

I figured she was just being affectionate and hormonal, but the licking still seemed like strange behavior coming from a bunny. Is it common??

Tbh I love the honking and attention… I hope the spay doesn’t change her too much

From what I heard, it’s alright. Some bunnies are licking arms of their owners because they’re saulty.
Though, it’s so cute that your little Chickpea is attracted to you

Spaying doesn’t change their personalities, only their bad habits

Bunny kisses!!!!! My Elara is a mega bunny kisser. Some nights she’s pretty chill with the kisses, but other nights, I can’t get her to stop! It’s a rare thing to have a kissy bunny so enjoy.

The licking is definitely an affectionate behavior. They don’t just lick anyone The honking and such is a hormonal thing, my rabbit is doing it too. She will be fixed in a month or so I hope. haha But it just sounds like your bun really likes you!

That’s true. Elara won’t lick my husband or my kid. Makes me feel pretty special.

My bunny licks me A LOT! I thought she would calm down when I spayed her, but it didn’t… Only the honking and circling stopped. And actually, she licks everyone she likes, even if she met you five minutes ago… Even though is not as intense as the licks she gives me. It’s pretty cute!

Oh yes, BunBun was totally all kisses and circling, lovey lovey… honking and humming around my feet… also right about that same age as well. She was super snuggly and any moment I sat down, she took to sit on my lap… sadly, even though she is still not yet spayed, she has past that rush of hormones stage and is not as “affectionate”… I gotta admit I miss my girl sitting on my lap every minute but she still gives me kisses, albeit not as many all the time, and she happily sits right next to me in my favorite chair. It certainly is safer to walk through the apartment! Either way, Bunny love earned will always be Bunny love rewarded!

What is also interesting is BunBun also gives the lick down treatment to the sofa, my chair, my throw blanket, the living room throw pillows, all of them… and I don’t just mean a little bit, I mean touch the surface and it’s wet, no need to buy an upholstery cleaning machine! She’s on the job! Kind of licking!

And yes, as far as not everyone gets the same treatment… my son has often resorted to rubbing his fingers with cranberries to get bunny kisses the way I do! Sneaky!
