I was petting my bunny when I felt a weird thing on her neck. I brushed it and couldn’t find it again so I assumed it was just matted fur. However, I found it again and I took a photo (she was freaking out and it’s kind of hard to see). I also checked her for fleas & the vet checked her for fleas last week and she didn’t have any despite me currently battling fleas in the house i’m renting (the house we lived in before had no fleas, and I’ve had her for only a few weeks.) I found little bits of dandruff which makes me think it’s mites and someone on facebook said it could also be mites. the scab itself is yellow, the area near it is pink, and a tiny clump of fur is falling off. She’s been scratching that same spot ever since I brought her home and I worried she came with fleas but couldn’t find any and didn’t see the scab until yesterday.

The picture isn’t working for me, but it sounds like a flea or mite problem, especially if you know that there’s fleas in the house. There’s no harm in treating her for fleas even if she doesn’t have them.

Make sure the vet uses a rabbit safe treatment. I believe it is Frontline that’s toxic to buns.

Yes, Frontline is deadly to bunnies.

Revolution is safe for bunnies. Your vet can give you the right dosage for your buns weight.
