Hi, again
For those who don’t know patches story, it’s long so if you would like to read about it, I haven’t updated it but it’s on my page.
So everything has been perfect ( patches kind of perfect, his gi tract is very slow even with cesipride, only pooping 2 times a day with about ten droppings but each poop was litterally the size of a 2-10 pound bunny poops put together and they were always a weird shape) but last weekend(no stresses) he started stasis on Monday ( he’s on cisapride for life) so of course we do all the stasis care, pain relief, massages, fluids, baby gas drops, force feed, the good stuff. Then he starts making that chalk board screech noise so he goes in for a dental Friday as nothing had really improved, he stopped completely pooping Thursday so he made it through the dental good and came home. So it’s sunday, still no poop, doing all the at home care, I feel his belly and it felt as if his cecum somehow dropped and fell infront of his tummy so I call the vet and I bring him in. Blood tests are normal and his gut sounds have been amazing the whole week (ends up being all the gas noises) so I was confused and knew something wasn’t right. So she does an X-ray and his tummy and gi are filled with gas. So she thinks a liver or cecum torsion. We do an ultrasound and she doesn’t see anything so she’s sending it out for a second opinion and should get results by the end of the day. So they are doing iv fluids right now on him.
Does anyone know how he could have developed gas so suddenly, so bad and if there’s any other meds that we should try? The vet hasn’t called me back yet but nothing online talks about how much gas he has in him and how to treat it.
