I’ve gotten a urine culture, 3 different antibiotics and special food for him after one of his meds started giving him diarrhea… I’ve spent almost 2k dollars for all of this I have no idea what to do. I’m so worried I’ll lose him to this… Advice?

my heart goes out to you. hopefully the dawn will arrive soon.

can you give more details – how long has the treatment been going for? what medications …

          perhaps get a second opinion?

It could be E Cuniculi. Although it can read a false negative, and the test is expensive I would highly recommend your vet test for it and treat with Panacur or Oxibendazole as a precaution. My Bombur was diagnosed with EC back in February for urinary symptoms. During a flare up he dribbles urine everywhere, doesn’t pee in his box, drinks excess water, and has urine scaled. He tested in the highest tier for EC and has been on 4 rounds of Oxibendazole, with improvement each time. If the antibiotics aren’t working, and you’ve tried different ones, than odds are it isn’t likely a UTI.

Is it 100% confirmed that it’s a UTI? Like A&B said, it could be something different and maybe that’s why the antibiotics haven’t been working. Have you gotten a second opinion from another rabbit savvy vet before?

I agree with Kurotta, you need to see a rabbit savvy vet or a second opinion. It can be a simple diet change that needs to happen( too much kale or alfalafa has calcium in it which causes a fast UTI to occur, my lop had a tiny amount of kale and gave her an infection fast) think about the veggies you feed and see what has a lot of calcium in it.
