Hello! So I finally got a lil bunny for my Leigh. I named her Marshmallow. The size difference is quite extreme at the moment. Since I’ve gotten hr, I’m working on intoducing them. At the moment, I’m introducing them with a barrier between so they can sniff, but they can’t be too close to each other. This little bunny knows no fear. Leigh is being a little nasty since she’s been a single rabbit since she was very young, so she’s growling and trying to nibble and bite, but she can’t get very far with the barrier in between.
How long should I keep them together with the barrier before I finally put them together with no barrier?

They both need to be spayed before you can put them together. You need to give the new bun time to settle in to her surroundings. After they’ve both been fixed allow for 1-2 months of healing and prebonding. After prebonding you can start short sessions in neutral territory. They shouldn’t be allowed out together at all until they’ve both been fixed.

What should I do if I can’t afford to spay them both yet? Should I spray the older one first? And then the little one?

Females shouldn’t be spayed until they’re about 6 months anyways so that they’re fully developed. So definitely spay your older girl first if your new girl is the standard 8 weeks old when they should first be going home, you’ve got at least 4 months to wait to spay her.
