I’ve had angoras for many years, but now have a rescued male English Angora that is about 6 years old, who has been with me for 5 year, who is quite a challenge. Whenever I go over to the hutch, he now goes to a certain corner by the front of the cage and pees/sprays, then he turns around and licks it. He gets his face and front disgustingly dirty and since his preferred corner for this behavior is under his water bottle, he also gets quite wet. The vet thinks it’s a behavior and that even if we risked neutering him at this age, it probably wouldn’t change. Any suggestions would be great!!!

Is the vet rabbit savvy? Spraying is hormonal behaviour and should go away once the bunny is neutered, so it’s pretty weird why he thinks it wouldn’t. 6 years old is also still not TOO old considering that a lot of bunnies these days do get to a ripe old age of 10+. If the bunny is in good health and doesn’t have any issues then it should be quite safe as well.
