For those who didn’t know, Thor has been sick and separated from Sif for about 12 days.  He has/had an ear infection/parasite infection so we separated them to monitor food intake and output.  We tried putting them back in the same space BUT she started to chase and ram him in the side.  His head/neck tilt to the side from what is wrong with him so he doesn’t move as fast.  Is she being mean because when she does get near him, she pulls his hair out.  The only thing separating them are wire panels that their cage is constructed of.  At my wits end with them.

How did you bond them in the first place?

Unfortunately it’s not unusual for bonds to break when one rabbit becomes ill. Once he’s recovered, I would go back to bonding basics, so put them together in a neutral space, and stop Sif as soon as it looks like she’s being mean. Gradually increase the time they’re spending together. Hopefully it will be quicker as it’s rebonding rather than brand new!

He was already fixed and a little over a year old when we took him to the breeder and let him pick out his “wife”. He had 3 females to choose from, who were all 4 weeks old, and he chose Sif by giving her a bunny kiss (the only ginger of the three, he tried to sit on the other two). They got along famously for the past 3 years until he got sick. He bossed her around until she got bigger than him and the tables turned. She out weighs him by almost 3 pounds. I don’t know if I should wait until he’s totally done with his meds, which will be around the 27th, so his scent is back to normal or not?

If he’s going to have to go on more vet visits by himself, it might keep upsetting their bond, so it might be better to wait.

Even if he goes back to smelling how he did, they’ll still need some rebonding.

It sounds like you were lucky and never went through a formal bonding process with them. If you look at the BUNNY INFO bonding section, it will give you an overview of the steps.
