I think one of my rabbit’s ears has finally lopped?? He’s a 3 year old lionhead/Holland lop cross. He definitely has the wide face for lop. I inspected his ear and moved it around and he doesn’t seem to be in pain or anything. It’s not red or bald. He also has full control of it. I know they lop after being up for a while, but three years?? Is it possible he’s a super late lopper since he’s not full lop? The second photo his ear is resting on my leg under the blanket.

I think it is possible. I have an adopted bunny. She is 4.5 years old and her ears one is up and one is down. Her dad is Lionhead and Chinchilla. Her mom is mini-Lop. I don’t know exactly when it started, but she looked like a normal Lionhead when she was young. Now, she doesn’t have anything like Lionhead at all.

Thank you! I think he is too. He’s my super handsome boy and i’d love him even if his ears stayed this way. My sister and I have been joking that he looks like an airplane now. Makes for optimal zoomies. Nyooooommm!

Wow! I bet that’s super cute. I didn’t think it was possible for ears to lop this late in life. Maybe it’s a crossbreed thing? He has been very affectionate lately since it happened, so I’m okay with it!

Those are actually called airplane/helicopter ears lol! And it’s really cute too.

The other ear may never lop, though it is also possible that it will. You’ll just have to wait it out and not expect either side of the coin

It isn’t unusual for lop mixes to lop much later than a full lop would. Helicopter ears aren’t unusual in mixes either. He’s super cute!

Awesome! I’m glad to know there’s nothing wrong with him I was concerned. I think he’ll still be adorable with helicopter or fully lopped ears. It was just weird being used to his uppy ears for YEARS and then suddenly one is down lol!
