Ok fellow bun parents, we have never had this issue before and hopefully someone can help. We have ants that are coming in our house. We have sprayed outside and laid down outdoor ant killer around the concrete and fireplace outside our home. They seem to be coming in between where the outside chimney meets our concrete drive. With 2 bunnies inside the only thing I feel safe to use indoors is vinegar to try and keep the ants out but this does not seem to be working. What else can we do? Spray again outside? Maybe borax and sugar mixture in a bo outside to try and kill them off? Help???

We had a monstrous ant hill outside in our back yard. We tried a bunch of the hardware store ant killers, nothing worked. We used the Borax and icing sugar 50/50. I kept nagging at my husband because it didn`t seem to be working. But he was persistent, reapplying it every few days and it eventually killed the whole colony. I suggest trying that where you are seeing them come in. Once the Queen is dead, they should move on.

It`s been brought up here many times, although I`ve never tried it, that you can use Diomataceous Earth as a safer alternative inside with pets and children. Someone else here will probably have more info on that for you.

Similar to what LittlePuffyTale said – putting out a mixture of equal parts baking soda and powdered sugar works too… still not sure of the bunny’s getting near the Borax or the baking soda though…

I would only use the Borax outside.
