So i have a bunny named Jinx and she’s a 9 month old mini lop. She’s extremely friendly and loves attention. We have only had her for 2 weeks but she’s fit in so well to our family
tonight, i opened the door on her cage so she could volunteerly go out and roam if she wanted to. She came out and went into the living room, however when me and my dog walked in normally, she absolutely FREAKED out. she ran the fastest id ever seen and knocked into our coffee table, and then ran and wedged herself between her cage and the wall. i too, freaked out and nudged her out from behind the cage. She then just acted as normal??? completely normal??? no injuries as far as i can see and she just hopped around for 2 minutes then volunteerily went back into her cage.
for a week i have been taking her out for 2 hour periods to the living room each day and she’s been LOVING it. she gets so active and binkies all the time and appears comfortable. i’m just confused why she reacted like she did tonight? i’m keeping an eye on her atm and she’s eating hay, cleaning, etc.
I also have a dog, but she’s never had a problem with the dog, infact she loves him and always settles with him. the dog is extra kind to her and has never hurt or tried to hurt her, he is extra nice and careful with her around.
When she panicked, my dog was wearing a coat that made him look different, could him walking in of freaked her out cuz she’d never seen him like that or?

It sounds like you two startled her. Buns know us mostly by our shapes so when that changes, they can panic. It’s happened to me when I walked into a room carrying a box or a bag etc. Plus it doesn’t help that sometimes they snooze with their eyes open.
