Hello Bunny people! Need help! Daisy my two year old (almost three year old bunny) stopped eating, I tried to give her hay, oats and pellets, lettuce and apples. But nothings working. I noticed her acting like this when I went to give her hay and she had a hard time standing up. I thought she might have hurten herself while I was gone for the day. But she’s able to walk but She’s walking funny. Her stomach is mushy, and she appears to be pushing it down sometimes. I’m about to rub her stomach and give her gas drops just in case. But she’s have had gas before and she’s never acted like this. Getting worried, I’m going to separate Arwen (my other rabbit) from her tonight and see if she eats while I’m asleep. If not may have to take her to a vet in the morning. And I don’t know what time she started to act like this, though she was eating around 7:30 A.M. Any advice????????? Really would apercatie it. Will give updates in the morning.

It could either be gas or a blockage. As you already know, gas is easier to treat with gas drops and tummy massages. A blockage however is more complicated and requires vet care. How many hours has it been since she last ate? Is she still pooping and drinking?

Their guts need to constantly move or it could go downhill very fast. I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to wait overnight to see if she’s eating. It’s best if you could get her to a vet asap.

I agree, it sounds like she needs to see a vet urgently.

The inability to stand up and walk normally is worrying, and could be caused by something other than a GI issue (EC or injury perhaps). The not eating (GI stasis) also requires a vet visit. If you really can’t get her to a vet until the morning, I would set your alarm and wake up multiple times to check on her. Ensure that she’s warm (feel her ears). Syringe some water into her to keep her hydrated. If it’s GI stasis, then syringing critical care or pellet mash is normally recommended, but it could also be a blockage, so that could be a bad idea – which is why it’s important to check with a vet.
