        Hi !
I woke up this morning to quite a lot of runny poop and the bun had a poopy butt so she had to have a butt bath which she hates. This isn’t the first time I have woken up to this lately which is very worrying.
She is still producing some solid pellets but there is fur in them as she is shedding a lot right now. She gets groomed regularly but the fur is never ending haha
Could the runny poop have anything to do with her shedding and eating some of the fur or are the two unrelated?
The only change in her diet has been some curly lettuce before bed, I was told this is perfectly find for her and she has had it in the past but thinking about it the last few nights she has had runny stool she has also had curly lettuce before bed, could this be the problem? If so what is the best thing that I can I give her instead?
Sorry for the length of this just a little worrier when it comes to my bun

Hmm I wouldn’t have thought the fur would cause runny poop. Too much fur ingestion usually causes ‘string of pearl’ poops (where poops are linked together) or in worse case, a blockage. It’s good that you’re grooming regularly – I hear ya on the never ending fur!

Curly lettuce could definitely be the culprit. Although it’s generally regarded as bunny safe, rabbits can react differently to different veggies so it might just be something that her tummy doesn’t like. I would cut it put completely, give her just hay for a few days and go from there

Thank you for the reply. I’m such a worrier because buns hide pain so well, I swear people don’t panic over their children the way I do about her haha. She is on a hay only diet for a few days at least to try and get her back on track. I’ve hidden a few of her favourite pellets at the bottom of her food bowl and covered with hay to try and encourage her to eat it because she’s a fussy bun. Fingers crossed it was just the lettuce ??
