Congrats on the new bunny!! Very accurate name for a rabbit :p
1) most vets recommend every 6months for check ups. Some rabbits need more, but a healthy happy bunny should see a vet at least twice a year just to be sure
2) Depending where you live:yes. Some countries do some vaccines and some dont so this answer reflects where I’m from (UK and Ireland) here we vaccinate against myxomatosis and VHD (RHD) one and two. We generally use a combined vaccine for myxo and VHD(RHD) one and a separate one for RHD 2. Myxo and rhd 1 is a once a year vaccine and the RHD2 can be one year or 6 months depending on the brand. Even indoor rabbits need vaccines in countries that are at risk as they are very contagious and can survive on people’s clothes
3) bunnies nails grow at different rates , and some wear them down better than others-some will never need them trimmed, others will need frequent trimmings, the average is about 6 weeks.
4) depends on the bedding and the weather, I clean mine at least once a week-sonetimes more. Simply to keep down the risk of flystrike, which I am very paranoid about and because my rabbits sometimes dig their litter if it’s not clean (hooligans)
5) cover the board. I tried all sorts of apple cider, and butter sprays and none of it detered a determined bunny ! I simply blocked it off so they couldn’t chew it. Sometimes if you break the habit , they’ll stop bothering to chew it when you finally remove the block, sometimes, the minute they’ve access again they are straight back to chewing.
My rabbits have hundreds of things to chew on- store bought, hand made, different t types of wood, cardboard, loofah, every kind of rabbit safe material I could find, and they still eat the plaster board off the wall at every opportunity. So now it’s just blocked :p
Hope that helps a bit !
