Hello everyone! I’m very happy to say that I’ve started bonding BB8 and Mister Babadook!  I started in early July but it didn’t go well so I after some great advice from Sirius&Luna I stopped and went back to pre bonding for a week and a couple days. I restarted bonding July 23rd. I did just 5 minutes with them a day for two days and they did well, no fighting or any problems they had when I first tried bonding them. Yesterday I did two 10 minute sessions and those went well too! Just hopping around and I gave them both a lot of pets with their faces cuddled together. Today I did a 15 minutes session and Mister Babadook groomed BB8!!  I was very surprised but happy! He groomed his face and just relaxed. Later in the session Baba groomed him again this time though he was rougher and it looked like he licked and he nipped. BB8 didn’t do anything just sat there. A few minutes later Baba groomed the side of BB8’s face and was doing his lick nip technique again and got uncomfortably close to BB8’s eye. BB8 hopped up and they both got tense so I pushed them apart and gave them more pets. Later Baba groomed him again and did a little nibble on his nose, BB8 didn’t react but I didn’t want Baba to get too rough and start a fight so a gently pushed Baba.

Anyway I’m pretty sure I’ve seen another post about bunnies grooming too roughly but I can’t find that post. Will Mister Babadook get more gentle with time? Is there a way I can keep him from being too rough? Any advice would be appreciated!! Thanks!!!

My babies are both seriously woolly-so we get a lot of chomping while grooming. It can be an issue when rabbits are working out issues together-grooming nips can start fights BUT it seems to be a way for them to figure out whats acceptable in their relationship.
When bonding Yumi and Peep, there was a lot of this, and now as bonded rabbits, Peep appreciates the vigorous grooming, but at the start it made him jumpy which would lead to brief scuffles, which I would simply break up
I think you have to allow BB8 to let Baba know when he’s being too rough, thats not to say let them fight, but with you monitoring you should be able to catch them before a fight starts up.
It’s hard not to be anxious about it I know, but they do have to interact with each other
